Celebrating Creativity: Our Paint and Take Adventure at Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) 2024
Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) is one of the largest anime conventions in the South East, and is always a whirlwind of creativity and camaraderie, and this year, WarGlamour had the incredible opportunity to host a Paint and Take event every day of the convention. It was a fantastic experience, bringing together seasoned painters and curious newcomers to share in the joy of miniature painting.

A Big Thank You to the AWA Team
First and foremost, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the AWA organizers for giving us the chance to run the Paint and Take. This event would not have been possible without their support and the vision to include such a hands-on, creative activity in the convention lineup. Special thanks to Andrew, the TableTop Gaming manager, whose coordination and assistance made the event run smoothly throughout the weekend. Your hard work behind the scenes did not go unnoticed, and we are deeply appreciative.
The Heroes Behind the Brushes
A huge shoutout goes to our dedicated painting team: Chris, Jeremy, Russell, and Steven. These talented painters volunteered their time and expertise, helping participants learn the basics, troubleshoot their techniques, and add the perfect finishing touches to their miniatures.
Painting Is for Everyone

One of the best parts of the Paint and Take was seeing so many people—from complete beginners to experienced hobbyists—pick up a brush and express their creativity. Miniature painting is a wonderfully inclusive hobby. Whether you’re painting your first figure or your hundredth, there’s always something new to learn and enjoy.
We were especially excited to introduce many participants to speed paints, a versatile and beginner-friendly tool that simplifies the painting process. These paints are fantastic for achieving vibrant, detailed results quickly, making them ideal for both newcomers and those looking to speed up their workflow. By the end of the weekend, we saw countless beautifully painted minis and plenty of smiles.

A Colorful Conclusion
To add an extra dash of excitement to the weekend, we ran a raffle each day. On the final day, we awarded the grand prize: a base set of Pro Acryl paints. Congratulations to our lucky winner! We can’t wait to see the masterpieces you create with your new set.
Looking Ahead
The Paint and Take at AWA was an unforgettable experience, and we’re already looking forward to next year. Thank you to everyone who participated, painted, and shared their love for this wonderful hobby. Remember, painting is for everyone—all you need is a brush, some paint, and the courage to try something new. Whether you’re using traditional techniques or using speed paints, the most important thing is to have fun.
See you at the next event, and happy painting!
